How do you deal with a sniper? Close the range! That’s why they get paired with spotters after all. A lone ranged fighter with no backup? Time to pull out the grapple rules!
I had a build like this once, an archer I build that had crazy accuracy and range but never carried melee weapons or wore armor. She became a smear on the pavement when the dm bull rushed her with a stone giant.
