Of course, this loses some tension as most of us know what happens in the show.
Anyway, number 2 there was pretty much the carrot I assumed would be held out. While Weers may not like that, Tom seems the sort to hold to the letter of his orders rather than the spirit, and to want to technically win even if it means it's a partial loss for his boss.

What do you mean by a technical win? Considering the meta nature of the plot, we all know it's a draw, and that Weers will most likely state that altering the deal mid game somehow will allow for them to intervene.
But part of me also gets a weird hunch that Tom secretly is doing this as a way to enjoy the game, rather than his job. It may cost him Jasper later on, but maybe he is playing this fusion card as a way to legally lose, with intention on being a cameo player from time to time for the GM?
While Weers might just want the setting, maybe Tom's hiding an enjoyment of the roleplaying aspect, rather than the rollplaying seen on other tables in his past. He can't admit it in a formal setting, but considering his other characters, maybe he honestly wishes to be a part of the table even though he knows it's not possible this round.
Weirder twists have happened.
That is an interesting point. It's pretty evident Tom hasn't had this much FUN in ages. It seems like he usually steamrolls other players without much effort whereas this group has genuinely surprised him and even come close to actually beating his 'perfect character'
Also a side note to do with the show rather than the comic specifically but I always find it adorable when we see Amethyst being protective of Steven. I mean I know all the Gems are but I guess with Amethyst it's a bit rarer as she tends to play up the 'Cool big sister' angle and mocks Steven in Indirect Kiss for caring about her but when the chips are down she doesn't hesitate to throw herself in harms way. Like in panel 4 here or in Friend Ship when she grabs Steven and stops herself and him falling into the pit with Garnet and Pearl.
Sorry, went on a bit of a tangent there ^^'

Even if they don't beat his 'perfect character', the module hit a situation where getting caught up in the moment is plausible. By all rights, he got chucked into a generator and crashed, yet has enough life left to live and challenge a fight. While some may argue this is a great con, it's also one of those "Welp, should be dead. Currently alive. What the heck, let's see how far this train goes, cause fortune favors the bold" moments, like when an imperial guardsman is left standing to fight a daemon prince in WH40k, or you're literally at 1 temp hp with a witch stuck in a dragon's maw and you've just got only a dagger to see if you really can crit. Or rolling for a mind trick on the imperial inquisitor to escape a cell. Players are known for their rather rule of cool moments, especially when they have fun.
As for Amethyst, I've always found her aloofness both adorable and frustrating. But I disagree about the 'cool big sister' thing, as when it comes to the show that ball is squarely in Garnet's court. Amethyst still fits as the "youngest child who suddenly had a sibling after 10 years" motif. To use a 90's term, she seems more "Radical/gnarly" than "cool", though arguably that could just be the outward expression talking. I see her more as the Bill and Ted style of "wicked" than the rather august "Woah" coming from an awestruck crowd. Even in luchadore form.
No I meant for what Tom wants, not for what actually happens. I suppose that was vague.
Minor grammer error in panel 1, "take" is spelled as takee

This is a justification. I hope that is not a Stalemate. If so then plot gonna be wack
